Another Reunion

I sent an e mail already to those classmates that have registered their e mail address with me. This is for the rest and also for yáll in case you erased that e mail........ Celebrating the 100th graduating class from Ankeny High School has begun. The first event is Homecoming, Friday, September 21, 2012. There will be a pregame tailgate with a Hy Vee catered meal, from 5 to 7 pm at Ankeny High School. I was advised of a new location, on the street between the stadium and the school, not at the softball field. There will AHS souvenirs for sale, including a tee shirt and the alumni plastic glass with screw top and straw. Next, mark your calendar, it is official. Saturday, July 13, 2013......this will be the FOUR Class Reunion at the Big Red Shed where this past summer's reunion was held. Since the 4 classes, 64-65-66-67 were the last four year high school, from Neveln High School......it is a great time for a BIG party. The committee has had one meeting so far. We would like to have some volunteers to help out over the winter and next summer. I don't know how many meetings will be held over the winter, but since I will not be in Iowa, I need someone to step up and be our class representative. The next meeting is Wednesday, October 10, 7 pm at the Clipper. Come on up to the meeting and bring some ideas.......ooh rah ooh rah........ Update on the Summer

reunion. The Big Red Shed has been reserved for our party. The menu and caterer has been chosen. All the information is ready to be mailed, I am just waiting for the e mail form to be posted, so I can include the new dues guidelines. If it isn't ready by this week end, I will do the mailing anyway. I assume it is a long term/short term donation for dues. Maybe a lifetime donation? It is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, so keep that in mind.
Our Party will be Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Big Red Shed, 4 miles east of town, on Enterprise Road. (Also known as First Street). Nothing formal, casual dress. The Big REd Shed is a facility large enough to hold 200, full kitchen, lots of stalls in the bathrooms ;D, big smile.......sofas, TV. Outdoors picnic tables, gazebo, fire pit if we choose to rent it (in case of mosquitos), large brick maze floor design. The business is famous for its Sept through October corn maze, hayrack rides and space for family BBQ's. The last 2 AHS 45th year reunions have been held at this facility and we are planning the 100th year reunion here also, for the last 4 year high school, years 1964-67.
I hope you classmates have marked your calendars already and will return for our reunion. Ankeny has changed, not only in population, but businesses all down Delaware Road, used to be corn fields and a dirt road, a new high school and a 2nd new high school to open in the fall of 2014, it is a beautiful CITY now.....we hope to arrange a bus for city and school tours during the reunion.
See y'all this summer......carry on........ooh rah ooh rah........
