Stormy Weather

That's a fact, no ice or snow, but all rain for the month of January. The newspaper
reports the worst January in 20 years for weather. Many nights in the 40's, that is freezing
cold for the Valley. At home that is equivalent to ZERO degrees.

I am doing some crafts, picking up sea shells out on the island and gluing them to picture
frames. Pretty cool, I inherit this skill from Aunt Jean that did all kinds of diddly things,
from ring making, stone carving, make bolos, belt buckles......ear rings....et all. No sewing,
the other cousins are into the antiques, as in furniture, not me, I want comfortable chairs
and sofas.....

Five months until the reunion.........any more thoughts about activities for the week end?

Thursday we can have a luncheon at the Bear or Clipper or someplace else in Ankeny.

Friday, Golf in the morning, Alumni dinner in the evening (6-9 PM) and then the Beer
Tent

Saturday morning the annual Summerfest parade to celebrate our reunion and birthdays......
Denny, Cyndy , Mark, Steve......who else?

Saturday evening THE CLASS OF 67 PARTY...........

Sunday??????? Brunch at the old restaurant on S HWY 69, it used to be Traders, who
knows what the name is now........

We need suggestions for events.....tours? Want to see "Our Home Town?" It has grown
in the last 40 years....we are about37,000 now..........

I would love to hear from you regarding the party or JFK....Just For Kicks.........

Carry on...............C

This is the latest committee meeting down on the beach in Texas.
You will notice I am lying down taking pictures of the sand
castle which we are going to build to have our reunion in.....
HO HO HO.........In your dreams! It would be nice to have a
party down here, when the sun shines it is the greatest place to
be. A long way from home, where there is NO ocean or beach like
this.come on down classmates..........

I FINALLY HAVE IT RIGHT

How do you like the official colors? AHS....Maroon and gold Fight Fight!

I thought you would like the new colors of the blog, so let me hear from
you about the colors and ......ARE YOU COMING TO THE REUNION?

Bundle up.....long johns and boots.........

The Furnace is Running Here TOOOOOO

Anyone out there actually warm? It looks like Florida is the
only place on the map that shows warm weather these days.
I have had some 80 degree days and have NOT even turned
on the A/C, but I am getting great use of the furnace. Weds
8AM, 39 degrees in the Rio Grande Valley while it is ZERO
in Ankeny.

Ayone out there making plans to come back home for the
reunion in July? I sure would like to hear from you, with
money, so we can make plans. Please write or e mail me
soon to let me know what your plans are. I'd like to hear
from you one way or the other, YES you are attending, NO
I am not attending. That way we can make an educated
guess on the food to order for the dinner....YES, we are having
a catered dinner!

The Rio Grande Valley is usually HOT. Not this week. Our
high might reach 60, but we carry on. They have been
cancelling events, like school and meetings, due to the
ice on the highways....They get very nervous in South Texas.

Well, I know how to bundle up and will be off to Mexico on
Thursday for some shopping and some lunch and some
margaritas.....all day is happy hour at La Galeria`.

Stay warm, turn up that electric blanket......Senorita Paca....
(That was my Spanish Class name with Senora Pratt)

Remember who used the name Guido? After Senora
Pratt's husband? A real comic in our class....one for the
quiz at the reunion......

HOW IS THE IOWA WINTER?

Well, in the Valley, we are having the same as Iowa, temps up and down, no rhyme
or reason. I thought I would have 70 or 80 degree weather all winter long. How does
this sound for next Monday thru Thurs? 59-49-52-57......these are the guessed,
daily HIGH temps.....I guess I won't go to the beach next week or get in any golf!

I think we now have about a dozen people signed up for the class reunion. Max
said he will attend. My old neighbor, he lives in the Chicago area I think. I have not
checked it out on Rand McNally...Pamm harkin is coming from the Quad Cities...
how about you folks in Minnesota?

DON'T SCHEDULE ANYTHING FOR JULY 12-15.......We will have a lot to do on a
long week end....lots of retired classmates in Ankeny.....

We need a great showing for the alumni banquet on Friday the 13th as well as our
own party. The alumni dinner and banquet is a great event. All of you from
instrumental Band, please let me know what you have in your scrapbooks for
the show the evening of the banquet. My biggie was a blue ribbon on the
baritone sax, junior high, at the event at Simpson College. The latch on the case
broke, I dropped my sax. When I started my performance, with Becky Nielsen
as my piano player....I was off tune.....Well, Mr Shepard was in the audience,
he called time out....made some repairs due to dropping the sax......i guess
I did good, a blue ribbon and then a movie with ????

What was your big event? The organizers would like to know and would
like photos, newspaper articles, your old set of drums?

Keep it in the middle......of the fairway.........keep your head down and
follow thru..........

Let me hear from you my friends..............

The Countdown Begins

That's right classmates, it is time to send in your money and make
your reservation for the class reunion, dig out the golf clubs and
make a trip to the Dome or go south and get ready for the Alumni
golf event on Friday the 13th, and go on that diet!

Seven months and counting and I think the calendar pages will be
torn off before you know it. There are a lot of things to do in making
plans for our party. As of Jan 1, 2007, we have the committee and
three others lined up to attend. Several have sent acknowledgements
that they are planning to attend, a good start on July 14, 2007.

Was Santa Claus good to you? I hope so. I found out what a real
Texas New Year's Eve party is like. It is just like the 4th of July
complete with fire works and pinatas and food and drink and
more food.......Short night for me, had to get out of bed in time
to see the Rose Bowl Parade and the first of five football games.
I love this day, relax and watch some great sports. Even Bobby
Knight won today, they love him down here in Texas.

Hope to hear from ya'll soon. don't forgot to change your
calendars......C
