Storm Clouds Soon Will Gather
The Valley is full of rain, possible tornadoes, until 9 PM now. It was supposed
to end at 5 pM. Go figure, the weather guessers are the same in the Valley as
they are in Iowa. The difference? I don't have a basement in Alamo like I do
in Ankeny. And since my temp is dropping, it will just be 60, no possibility of
SNOW!
I had a nice Christmas card from Jim Neikirk, he is going to try to make it
to the reunion next summer. That means if he can spend the money on the
trip, ya'll locals better make it too. Jim lives on IOWA ST, in Houston.
Weather alerts, they scroll the report across the top of the TV screen, but they
also turn off the volume of the show so you pay attention. Is there a reason
these TV stations can't use their TIVO? Stop the show and resume? Too easy?
Merry Christmas, I hope Santa finds all you good girls and boys...........C

TEXAS, DECEMBER 18, 2006
Happy Holidays classmates. Weather is great down south, 74 today, perfect and
by Christmas day it is supposed to drop to about 60. Oh darn, but NO SNOW is
in the forecast. That was the reason to move to Texas, no bad weather, when it
does get to 50 or 60, it is still like a beautiful Fall day in Iowa.
Today's paper said that the Iowa football team was a disaster this year. A couple
years ago, it was the same for ISU. They went to Idaho and played their Bowl Game
on a blue field in the snow. Well, Iowa Fans follow the team and bring in big bucks
for the sponsors, so our Hawkeyes are three hours away from me for their bowl
game and I can't go. Big bill for car repairs is keeping me from making the
trip, HOWEVER, I might cruise up there for the Huddle.....Maybe I will just invite
the Ankeny people over for the game........
I have heard from a couple more classmates, we have about a dozen lined up for
the reunion. I"D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU, so the committee can make plans.

Life is good in the Valley........
This is not true, at least for now. Maybe if we live in the mobile home
more often we would not have the problems. Then add on the new
electric charges, DSL takes a while to hook up, the vehicle repairs are
the big problem. Denny, I should have called you before I agreed to
the price tag. I think a letter to the better business bureau will be in
order..............
I have had five days of great Iowa fall weather, not what I wanted in
the Valley. If I had a vehicle today, I would have made the run to the
Island. However, another bad boat captain hit the Queen Isabella bridge.
No deaths for now, the emergency warnings worked, but will I get to
make the trip over this winter??????????
Maybe I will have to join a fitness company and drink.............
I need some replies about the July 2007 reunion. Let's have a great
party and beat last year's class at the alumni dinner. They had three
tables of 8, let's have more. The alumni dinner is a great event, come on
home for the event.........
Back at you later when things get in order down south..................
OOH RAH.........................

Reunion 2007 is soon and I have only ONE reservation. I think that
person will win some kind of prize at our party.
If you don't want to send money now, please advise me if you are
planning to attend the party. The committee needs to plan how
much food we need to order.
I will keep bugging you about this until it is too late, so ease my
mind and advise me, por favor.. I am in Texas..........por favor........
Have a great holiday season, come on down for the Alamo Bowl
Game, we can hook up for the tailgate....

REUNION TIME 2007
Hello classmates, with the committee, I have one reservation
for our reunion, so we will have at least six people at the party.
Go figure. Please advise me asap if you plan to attend, whether
you send money right now or not.
The committee needs input, so we can plan the dinner, which
is included in your reservation. FREE FOOD........love that
word..............FREE.............
The weather in Texas is what I hoped for. Big storm yesterday
in the upper Midwest.........down south, we were at 60 degrees
and I had to turn on the furnace....so sad, right?
Stay warm.............C
PS. I hope you learned about Eddie Medici's death, if not, it was
in October, 2006. He was buried in a guitar shirt. SOOOO, I
remember that Ron and Steve were in the band, who was #4
member and what was the groups name?

HLO AGN Class of 67,
Greetings from the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. 83 today and the same
every day until Friday when we expect temps in the 60's. Don't you
feel sorry for me? I have NO slacks or jeans, only shorts.
I have one return from the postcards. Joyce Goff has moved. If anyone
in Ankeny has some time, please call her mom, Alma Porter, 621 SW
Des Moines St and get a new address for me, thanks. Long distance
phone charges are unknown down here in the valley.
Shall we have a black and white night at the reunion? Over the hill
party? Let's do it. Let's have some prizes for best dressed and oldest
over the hill person. I think it might be Dennis P Kochheiser. Who is
our oldest classmate? Anyway, we will celebrate Mark's birthday a
day late, as well as another half dozen Cancer Classmates. That
horoscope sign for cancer is also a 69...go figure.
e mail still the same.....cyndyclassof67@aol.com until I finally
get hooked up with Roadrunner DSL............will advise, but I think I
will still be able to get my e mails from the aol addy.............

Passing Thoughts
How about a theme party for our anniversary? I have it
all figured out, will advise by spring 2007, all we on the
committee need is your body at the party! Please make
arrangements now for time off work in July 2007, start
on July 4 and take a long week of vacation.
Karen Burrows Alexander thinks we should be in the
parade, it is on July 14, the morning of our class party.
We have three people with convertibles, Diane Evans,
Bobby Terrell and Cyndy. If there are any more out
there, let the committee know and we will be cool, drive
in the parade and toss out educational materials from
AHS or the Historical Society.
If this isn't what Karen had in mind, we will put her
in charge of the float, hayrack?
There are a lot of activities going on the week of our
reunion, it is Ankeny's Summerfest celebration. Two
parades, carnival, dunk tank, beer garden, etc., all of
the usual holiday events, but ours is after July 4!
See you soon.

Hello Classmates,
This is our own blog, I have sent the address and password to
those of you with a computer. You can add a comment at
any time, keep it clean.
Four of us were able to meet for an organizational meeting
on Oct 24. Here are the preliminary plans.
AHS Alumni Golf and Banquet, Friday the 13th, July, 2007.
The golf event will hopefully be held again at Dennis
Albaugh's course in Ankeny, the Talons of Tuscany. Probably
a 9 AM shotgun.
The Banquet is a great event and will be at OHIL church in
Ankeny. I hope we will have a big turn out. You can purchase
a wine or beer ticket for the evening. The honor group this
year is instrumental music. I will contact our class band
people soon. Please look in the boxes in the attic and see if
you saved anything from HS band. Photos, uniform, hat,
newspaper articles, anything you have. Do you still play your
instrument? I think they want to have a pep band play the
school song at the banquet.
The AHS Class of 1967 will have their party on Saturday,
July 14, 2007. Elks Lodge again. You will purchase all drinks,
we will have a dinner, probably a 6 PM start for cocktail hour
and dinner at 7 PM. More news will follow.
PUT THIS WEEK END ON YOUR CALENDAR NOW, WE'D LOVE
TO HAVE A FULL HOUSE AT OUR PARTY.
A sad note, Eddie Medici passed away on Oct 12 from an
aneurysm near his heart. The class has donated to the Ankeny
Area Historical Society Barn Fund in his memory.
Keep your head down and follow through, Cyndy
