Yes, it is time for the AHS Alumni activities, during Summerfest week end. Activities start on Thursday at the Leisure Gardens and carnival at Northwood school. The alumni group starts their activities on Friday with their golf outing to support the scholarship program. Friday at 5 PM alumni start to arrive at OLIH church for dinner and the business meeting. That is a must, to qualify for a tax break, we have to hold one business meeting per year. New menu this year, dinner is being catered by alumn Dennis Gibson. If he cooks as well as he played football......yum! Saturday night usually finds the five year classes holding their group parties as various locations around the city. My brother is celebrating his #50 year! WE are much younger D) (big smile). ONce again, I encourage the class of 67 to support the alumni group by paying dues and giving any donation you can afford, $7 dues and $3 more for a total of $10.......easy.......thank you in advance.....OOH RAH OOH RAH

How do You Like
the new background photo? Yes, I am rubbing it in, my winter home away from the snow and wind chill factors and ice of the north. This is a very close picture of South Padre Island where I lived a couple years ago. It was boring, everyday grab lunch, a chair, a book, a camera, a beach towel and head to the beach for five hours. Oh yes, bring along an umbrella and good walking shoes. Go for an hour or two walk north on the beach and back to the chair, have lunch, open the book and read until 430 pm. ride to the rig on the bike, toss off chair and beach gear, ride up to the office, pick up the mail, go home and shower and suddenly, it is happy hour and time for the ABC evening news. Time to find out what the rest of the world was doing while I was on the beach. That life was OK for one season. I still go visit, I just love the life in an RV park better.....carry on.

New Blog

for AHS girls basketball. After spending 9 months researching Ankeny Girls BB, back in 2004, I found a lot of history. Now I have decided to start a blog and I hope any classmate with any news articles, photos, etc., from their years on the AHS team, please contact me. I'd love to post any and all news. This photo is of the 1925 team, compliments of the Logli family and Jeanne Ersland. The Bloomer girls of AHS. No skin can show, thus the bloomers, long sleeve blouses, a tie.
