Class reunion

coming up next summer......July 12-15, mark your calendar......believe it or not, this is our 45th year out of good old AHS....we will have a lot of activities.....Thursday night leisure garden at Summerfest celebration (used to be Fun and Feed Days), Friday Alumni banquet, Saturday parade and class party, in the middle we will have a lot of other activities for us to mingle and visit. MARK YOUR CALENDARS......NO EXCUSES........BE THERE OR BE SQUARE..........carry on my friends, ;D big smile............

RIP MURPH

Classmate Ken Murphy Jr. passed away on September 9, 2011. Today's paper reports the visitation will be TODAY, Sept 13, from 2-9 pm at the Colfax, Iowa, funeral home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept 14, 10:30 am at the Baptist Church in Colfax.
Our class memorial fund will send a $50 donation to the Ankeny Area Historical Society in his name.

I would like to have some input about

our class reunion next year.......dinner? snack food? DJ or music to dance your feet off? Quiet spot to just sit around and talk?
BBQ, pig roast? There are a lot of ideas, send me your thoughts. Post them here..we will go with the majority, so don't be shy. I think the date is Saturday, July 14, 2012.......unless y'all want to have the reunion some other time. Does someone want to organize a cruise? The committee would like some input ASAP..........see y'all next July, I hope..........

Class Meeting

is scheduled on June 22, 5pm or so. If the weather is good, hot, sunny, NO RAIN, we can meet at my home. HOWEVER, if it is raining, we will have to meet someplace else. I have water in the basement and I am sure it won't get cleaned up by meeting time, Does anyone want to volunteer to host the happy hour? carry on

Time to get ready

for our 2012 class reunion. Yes, it will be our 29th reunion again, just like Jack Benny. We have one suggestion from Denny, the VFW south of town by Woodside Golf Course. We can have a dinner and there is a cash bar available. Not much to do, except get yáll to come on back home for a visit. The Alumni Association has their annual banquet/dinner during Summerfest activities and in the past most classes hold their class reunions at the same time. Briefly, we will attend the banquet/dinner on Friday night, Saturday parade and plenty of time to see Ankeny before our party in the evening. A real treat will be a tour of the new Ankeny High School.......It will open in the fall of 2011. Updates

Hello, it has been a while since I have logged onto this blog. Looks like the last entry was right before I left Ankeny for warmer climate for the winter.....We lost classmate tom Monaghan in February, Mary Beth Justice Overton lost her father at the end of February. That's all I can remember for now.

IT is time to start thinking about our 45th reunion in 2012. What type of reunion do you want? Big Saturday night party as has been the usual event? Ride in the parade? Luncheon? Tour of Ankeny and the NEW high school?
